Haryana CM to Launch “112” Hotline for All Emergencies | Chandigarh News

CHANDIGARH: In a historic step towards empowering the citizens of Haryana with 24-hour police assistance, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will launch a new integrated Haryana 112 emergency number on Monday for all Panchkula police, fire and ambulance emergencies.
Police Director General (DGP) Haryana Manoj Yadava said the chief minister would also report 601 emergency response vehicles (ERVs) equipped with mobile data terminals and other emergency equipment. Interior Minister Anil Vij would preside over the ceremony and President Gian Chand Gupta would be present.
Describing the project as an important milestone for the Haryana Police Force, the DGP said starting the project would allow the police to help people faster and more effectively in an emergency. Citizens can request emergency assistance by dialing a unique number, “112” in the event of distress.
The emergency number would be launched as part of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS). The new system would eliminate the need for people to remember multiple numbers. ERSS is an integration of police (100), fire brigade (101) and ambulance (108) assistance numbers to provide emergency services through a single number. The project was implemented under the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior (MHA).
As part of the project, a state-of-the-art state emergency response center was set up in Panchkula, which was digitally connected to the district-level police control room as well as ” emergency response vehicles. M / s C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram is the complete solution provider for this project which uses the latest communication and computer technology to provide an advanced system.
