Victim of a bullet in the leg in Winston-Salem, taken to hospital

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (WGHP) – A victim was in the leg in Winston-Salem and taken to hospital on Sunday, according to a press release from the Winston-Salem Police Department.

At 2:49 a.m., officers from the WSPD Armed Crime Reduction Unit responded to a local hospital when they learned that a victim had presented with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim explained that the shooting happened outside a bar on Waughtown Street.

No suspicious information is available at this time.

The victim is currently being treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Several used shell casings were found on Waughtown Street and seized.

The investigation is ongoing.
